Media

The following is a list of media currently available for check out or online from the Library. The discs contain still images, moving images for use in animation and interactive media projects, or short sound clips. All still and moving images are royal-free items or are licensed for use in classroom projects. All of the discs which contain still images, except the texture discs, include each image in various resolutions from low to high. As noted below, most of the images on the still image discs can be viewed as thumbnails by clicking on the appropriate file link. These are thumbnails only. Full-size images are available only on the image discs.

Due to demand, media discs are available for 1-hour check out only. Images used from these discs should be copied to another storage medium (student folder, removable disc, etc.) and the disc returned to the library as soon as possible. To check out a media disc, write down its call number (located in front of the title below) and present this with a valid AiDallas ID card to the Circulation Desk.

Media Online

Getty

Getty Images + Video contains nearly one million non-digitally watermarked royalty-free images and more than 300,000 rights-ready and royalty-free video clips. Students may download up to but no more than fifty (50) high resolution images and ten (15) video clips per person per quarter. Content retrieved from the Getty database may be used for non-commercial educational purposes only. Using Getty content for commercial or non-school-related purpose is not permitted. To obtain the user name and password, follow the steps below. Access by user name and password only. Password updated quarterly. 1. Omnimusic

Omnimusic is a music database of over 7900 high quality music tracks and special effects sounds in a wide variety of forms available via educational license. On-campus and remote access to Omnimusic is only available via username/password, which is available at the Circulation Desk only upon presentation in person of a valid AiDallas ID card.

Digitalvision

Where there are two discs indicated, Disc 2 consists of the highest resolution images. All images are saved in JPEG format. When locating Digitalvision discs by means of the thumbnail browser, note that the number of the thumbnail file corresponds to the number portion of the call number below.

The Megarom collection contains nearly 3,000 art history images of painting, sculpture, architecture, crafts, and photographic art. About one-third of these are works of art cited in the principal general art history texts.
