- A superb directory of Web links on a wide variety of topics on learning and student development, including ESL, the Internet, math and science, organizing, presenting, reading, reference, research, self assessment, study skills, test taking, thinking, vocabulary, writing papers, writing skills, and a task assessment tool called The Verbinator.
- National Resource Center for the Freshman Year Experience and Students in Transition -

- Focusing specifically on the experiences of individuals entering college and those closing their college careers, this Web site covers various topic relating to college teaching, including virtual workshops and conferences, a listserv, and useful links to further resources.
- National Teaching and Learning Forum -

- The Forum Web site is largely geared to encourage subscription of the well-known print version of this periodical, but the online version has some useful features. Sample articles from previous issues are made available. The library includes a bibliography of classics in the field, many in full text, as well as ERIC Digests. Subscribers may access the full issue online.
- New Chalk -

- Coordinated at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, New Chalk is an on-going forum for exploring the use of networked technologies--mainly the Internet--to challenge and encourage learning in the classroom. A listserv is provided for automatic updates of articles.

- HCC takes a comprehensive view of faculty development on its site, including newsletters, a discussion forum, teaching tips, faculty handbook, bibliographies of professional publications and resource materials, organization and minutes of the HCC Faculty Development Committee, and a link to receive help with textbook evaluation.
- Iowa State Center for Teaching Excellence -

- Iowa State's CTE contains a large number of resources for faculty development, including a listserv, a list of books and online resources in CTE's library, teaching portfolios, diversity & multiculturalism, and a very large section on teaching tips.

- ACT provides a site which is very useful for outside instructors as well as its own faculty. A course-site template is provided for putting course materials on the Web, many online articles are available on the use of networked technology, as well as discussions of Web and multimedia resources and further educational Web site and instructional design references.

- Dalhousie provides a site rich in information for instructors. It includes a newsletter, FOCUS Online, and articles on learning in higher education, instructional development and technology, successful strategies in high education, working with large classes, and links to similar resources.
- Higher Education Development International -

- This site is no longer being maintained. Last updated in October 1999, it contains much useful information nonetheless. Sections for staff developers, teachers and teaching methods, and student support ideas are included. Links to many sites, chiefly European, in higher education development are also provided.
